Rhubarb Fest Vendor Information

Rhubarb Fest, Southwood’s signature festival, draws approximately 2,000 visitors from our neighbourhood and surrounding areas. This family-friendly event offers a petting zoo, face painting, kid bouncers, a BBQ, live music, a beer garden, craft and activity zones and more.

Vendor Opportunity

Rhubarb Fest’s vendor marketplace is an opportunity to sell your products and services directly to our festival goers throughout the festival from 11 am to 5 pm.

Vendor sites are reasonably priced - $25 for Southwood Community Members or Corporate Members, and $50 for non-members. Vendors are subject to the requirements outlined below.

CONFIRMATION

Our Rhubarb Fest event organizer will connect with all vendors/organizations directly after they register to be part of Rhubarb Fest 2019.

LOCATION DESIGNATION

We will assign each vendor/organization a specific place at the festival, a site map indicating your location will be circulated in advance of the festival.

FOOD SALES

Due to the type of permit we receive from Alberta Health Services, no vendor is permitted to sell food products on site.

VEHICLES

Absolutely NO vehicles are permitted to drive onto the site during unloading, set up or tear down, for safety reasons.

LOADING/UNLOADING

There will be a designated loading/unloading section on the road adjacent to the festival site.

BUILDING PERMIT INSPECTION

Our Building Permit inspection for the festival will take place at 10:30 am on the day of the festival. This means, if you are bringing a 10’x10’ tent/canopy to the festival it will need to be up and properly weighted or secured at the time of the inspection.

TENTS

All vendors/organizations are responsible for bringing their own tent, table and chairs. Tents are optional but can be no larger than 10’x10’. Your tent should be properly weighted and secured and meet the fire code requirement. The fire code requirement should be indicated on the tent and is: CAN/ULC S109.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Rhubarb Fest is a Green Event and vendors and organizations are expected to help us meet our goals by using compostable or recyclable materials wherever possible. In the past we've diverted nearly 90% of our waste away from the landfill!
